• Port Townsend: A Great Place To Live & Teach

Located in a Victorian seaport and arts community, Port Townsend Schools prepare our students for the future they choose. We have four schools: an elementary school in a brand new building, a middle school with a tree orchard, a high school with a college-campus feel, and an alternative school for all grades. Our students engage in pace-based learning projects that have a meaningful impact on their communities. Our facilities include teaching gardens and a production garden that provides locally-sourced meals for our cafeteria. Our thriving orchestra program sends students to competitions across the state.

    Meet the Team

My name is Dr. Linda Rosenbury and I am the superintendent of Port Townsend Schools. Our community cares deeply for its children, providing instruments for them to play, space for them to run, and healthy food to nourish their bodies. Most importantly, we support our teachers and staff who inspire students to learn every day. Whether it is tying knots at the Northwest Maritime Center, biking to Fort Worden, or creating value-added products for our local farmers market, our students are engaged in the town. Our staff works together and with families to ensure that each and every child graduates prepared for the future they choose.

Port Townsend combines a small-town feel with cosmopolitan amenities. Our community members know their neighbors and help one another out. We attract artists, musicians, and writers from across the country. Our top-rated restaurants offer all types of cuisines and our local wineries and cideries do not disappoint. Our natural beauty includes open views of Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountain Range, and the Cascades including Mount Baker. Finally, our town includes walking trails throughout its neighborhoods allowing you to peacefully stroll or walk your dog.

Port Townsend has the best of both worlds - the benefits of rural living with the sophistication that big cities offer.
