    My name is Dr. Scott Mauk, and I'm the superintendent of the Chimacum School District.

    This community is passionate about its children, and on behalf of myself and the staff of the district, we want to share that commitment with you here. I love the kids and families in Chimacum, they and the staff in our school system are fantastic and dedicated to being in this community.

    Chimacum is a family-friendly community that is ideally located for enjoying the best the Peninsula has to offer. This unique, laid-back town is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of larger cities and has the added bonus of less traffic! The community has close access to boating, hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, fishing/hunting, skiing, camping and beach combing. It is also in close proximity to the nearby Jefferson County arts community, featuring world-class music, film, theatre and the visual arts. If your interests are in fine food and drink, Chimacum is in the heart of a renowned food and beverage scene with the Chimacum Farmers market, local seafood, restaurants, bars, breweries and cideries.

    To take a break from the rural environment, Chimacum is located near the Hood Canal Bridge, or if you’d like to sit back and relax on your getaway, the ferry to Seattle is right down the road for a weekend getaway to the city for shopping and culture. Rounding out the amazing experience of living in such a quaint town is its access to quality health care and other services.
