    Job Description
    JOB TITLE:      Finance Manager
    JOB STATUS:   Full-time, Exempt Position
    REPORTS TO:  Executive Director

    Overview
    Founded in 1974, Centrum produces multi-disciplinary artist workshops, intensives, and residencies on 434 acres of parkland at Fort Worden State Park on Puget Sound in the Victorian seaport community of Port Townsend, Washington. As we plan for our 50th anniversary in 2023, we seek a support person for the organization and its programs as a member of the Finance Department.  Centrum produces weeklong workshops and residencies year-round with a staff of 14 full-time and 7 part-time staff.
     
    The Finance Manager works with the Treasurer and Executive Director to establish financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems; monitors and informs the Executive Director on legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions; oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection, and payroll and risk management; works with the Executive Director and appropriate department heads to prepare the annual budget; and provides monthly reports to Centrum's Board of Directors. In addition, our Finance Manager maintains accurate records of all financial transactions; reconciles and balances accounts; compiles reports to show statistics, such as cash receipts and expenditures; manages accounts payable/receivable and profit and loss; as well as other items pertinent to the operation of the organization. Supervision of a Finance Assistant is also a part of this position.
     
    Position Requirements
    ·         Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting and four years’ experience, including one year of supervision; non-profit experience and CPA certification a plus.
    • Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings when needed.
    • Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel, have a strong working knowledge of QuickBooks AR/AP, and be well-oriented with use of the Internet
    • Analytical ability for gathering and summarizing data to find solutions for issues and to prioritize work
    • Must be detail-oriented in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
    • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations
    • Must have a driving record with no more than two moving violations or at-fault collisions in the last three years and no major driving violations (to be insurable on Centrum’s auto liability policy)
    • Must be willing to work weekends and evenings if needed
    • Successful completion of a background check
