    Event Description:
    Washington State Treasurer Duane Davidson will address members and guests at the regular meeting of the Rotary Club of East Jefferson County on Thursday, February 13th, 2020. Guests are welcomed. The Club meets at the Old Alcohol Plant Restaurant, 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock WA at noon. An optional cafeteria-style lunch (soup, salad and sandwich $15) is available beginning at 11:30am. The meeting begins at noon and wraps up promptly at 1pm. The mission of the Washington State Treasurer is to effectively and efficiently manage investments, debt, and cash to protect and enhance Washington State’s strong financial standing, build economic vitality, and ensure the highest possible value for every tax dollar in a rapidly changing financial and regulatory environment. The Office of the State Treasurer provides an array of vital services to state and local governments in a way that balances opportunity, cost control and risk management. In addition to chairing the State Finance Committee and the Public Deposit Protection Commission (PDPC), the Treasurer is a member of five other state boards: The Washington State Economic and Revenue Forecast Council, the Washington Economic Development Finance Authority, the Washington State Investment Board (SIB), the Guaranteed Education Tuition (GET), and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. Duane Davidson was elected as Washington’s 23rd State Treasurer in 2016. Prior to that, Duane was elected to four terms as Benton County Treasurer, serving from 2003 – 2014. He is an actively licensed certified public accountant (CPA), and a long-time Kiwanian. He is the past-president for two separate Kiwanis Clubs in the Tri-Cities and served as treasurer for the Kiwanis Club of Tri Cities Industry Foundation.
