Registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/river-otters-virtual-program-tickets-203588046327 Join us with Sara Penhallegon from the Center Valley Animal Rescue to learn about the life of river otters. They are such cute and curious creatures that live throughout the Puget Sound. In this presentation you’ll learn about their life cycles, homes and why they may end up at Center Valley Animal Rescue. Sara Penhallegon is the founder and Executive Director of the Center Valley Animal Rescue located in Quilcene. Having worked under other licensed rehabbers and their facilities since 2000, Sara has built a reputation of knowledgeable care and housing of injured wild animals through their eventual release. She became a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator in Feb 2012. In that same month Center Valley Animal Rescue (CVAR) became a permitted Wildlife Rehabilitation facility. Sara has been in the veterinary field with domestic animals since 1995, and wildlife since 2000. Sara and her husband Robert, have 2 dogs, 4 cats, a house rabbit, two horses, an emu and 10 chickens; all rescues. Sara enjoys riding her motorcycle, horseback riding, training horses and hiking. She and her husband also live on site as CVAR’s care takers. CVAR focuses on rehabilitation of wild mammals and wild birds. These animals are brought to us for many reasons: some are hit by cars; some are attacked by cats and dogs and others are orphaned babies. No matter what the reason for their arrival, the goal is always the same: get them healthy, keep them wild and release them back to the wild.
