Help restore the natural beauty at Fort Flagler State Park by removing invasive plant species. Friends of Fort Flagler is organizing a park clean up on April 23rd between 9am and 1pm. The Park will be giving free day passes to any volunteer who does not have state park passes. Volunteers will bring their own tools, water, masks, and gloves and be directed to a specific site. SUPPLIES 1. Fort Flagler State Park will provide some supplies such as buckets, pickers, and reusable bags. 2. Participants bringing their own supplies need to make them as zero waste as possible a. Reusable bags for beach cleanup, old fabric tote bags, cardboard boxes, buckets b. Garden Gloves c. Clippers, loppers - Scotch Broom Removal 3. Comfortable shoes, layers for warmth, raincoat, hat, sunscreen, water, and snacks. MINORS Minors must be accompanied by an adult. We do not allow unsupervised minors to participate in a beach clean-up alone. We will be following CDC and State pandemic guidelines to keep all our volunteers safe.
