Funded, in part, through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE provides free and confidential one-on-one business mentoring. SCORE also conduct workshops for both start-up entrepreneurs and seasoned small business owners. Our partnership is with the Greater Seattle SCORE chapter, one of the most dynamic and highly-skilled chapters in the nation.
The Chamber’s commitment is to assist this community in re-imagining and revitalizing by investing in our community, and to strengthen the area by creating opportunities to assist our businesses in rebounding and sustainable growth. Our SCORE partnership is created to do just that. Our educational classes and Workshops have been growing in the last few years, however, alone we cannot assist all levels of business on an ongoing basis with the specific target classes is not feasible. However, with this partnership we are excited to be able to fill that niche.

In 2020 SCORE mentors helped start 45,027 businesses, create 74,535 non-owner new jobs and 119,562 total new jobs.
Mentoring works. Small business owners who receive 3 or more hours of mentoring report higher revenues and increased growth.
- Let the Chamber help identify your small business needs and desired support and schedule your free mentoring session with a SCORE mentor. Since SCORE is a nonprofit resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), our mentoring services are free, regardless of the number of times you visit a mentor.
- You can meet with one or several mentors via email, video, phone or online chat.
- Our mentors are experienced in all aspects and stages of business development, whether you’re thinking of starting a business or growing your existing company.
You can continue your relationship for 1 or more sessions and for the life of your business at NO COST to you. And reap great awards.

Get Chamber Membership Credit for Participating
To assist you in making the decision to invest your time in educational endeavors we are providing this access along with up to $50 in membership credit for up to 3 workshops you take within a year through our partner, SCORE. If you are currently a member, we will credit you with those funds toward your next annual membership investment and for non-members wishing to join the chamber these credits can apply to your initial investment or a renewal. All participating in this program have access to the Chamber incubation program as well as the Community Development Fund projects.

Prior to Arlene Alen taking on her current role as Executive Director of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, she served as CEO / President of a Northern AZ Chamber. Recently Alen was appointed to serve on the Jefferson County Planning Commission. Ms. Alen was elected to the Town Council of Dewey-Humboldt where she also served as Vice-Mayor. Alen is a member of the International Placemaking Leadership Council and represented the Town of Dewey-Humboldt on the Executive Board of CYMPO (Central Yavapai Municipal Planning Organization), the Yavapai County Water Advisory Commission, the Yavapai County Veterans Mental Health Advisory Commission as well as the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Neighborhood, Sustainability and Quality of Life Committee.
A Fellow at the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership Center, Flinn Foundation, Alen earned degrees in Architecture & Design and is graduate of Pepperdine University’s Arbitration & Mediation program. She served as CEO of several nonprofits and served on multiple Boards of Directors including the Executive Board of Trustees for PATH Intl. (The Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship) and on the Executive Board of Directors, of West Yavapai Guidance Clinic Foundation.
Ms. Alen is a founding Principal in TSRG, The Strategic Resource Group dedicated to assisting nonprofits and small businesses in achieving successful sustainability. She has earned the Institute of Organizational Management IOM Certification through the US Chamber of Commerce and is a completing candidate for CEcD certification through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Ms. Alen was awarded a Certification in Public Management (CPM) from Arizona State University. Alen is a graduate of the ASU-Lodestar Nonprofit Leadership Academy as well as the Prescott Area Leadership Academy Class XXll. She received the Quad-Cities Manager of the Year Award from the Lockheed Martin Leadership Association and the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce Award for Community Service.
